State Basketball Centre underwent a transformation on Saturday night to hold the 2017 Basketball Victoria Awards Dinner.

The night saw our very own Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Walter winning the Jack Carter Memorial Award for Administrator of the Year. This award recognises an administrator for their outstanding contribution to Victorian basketball during 2017 in areas such as developmental activities, increased participation numbers, management skills, facility development, marketing activities or financial achievements.

VBRA Knox walked away with the title of Referee Program of the Year, selected for their achievements through development activities, training programs, effective supervision, increased referee numbers and improved refereeing standards.

Amongst the winners were also a number of outstanding individuals who were recognised for their countless hours of contribution over the past 15, 25 & 50+ years.

Congratulations also goes to ex- Knox Junior Raiders player Teisha Shadwell on winning the Charles Ryan Wheelchair Athlete Of The Year award, Molly Urquhart-Moran – State Basketball Centre Receptionist, for taking out the award for Basketball Athlete with an Intellectual Disability and Michelle Couling from White Line Images for winning Photograph of the Year – Media.
