BACK TO BACK WEEKLY HONOURS FOR DENSON
Thursday, August 09, 2012
Knox Under Armour Raiders star Amy Denson has been recognised for the second consecutive week as SEABL's Player of the Week, with two outstanding performances over last weekend.
Denson's efforts helped guide the Raiders to two victories, pushing their regular season record to 23-1.
At the State Basketball Centre on Saturday night against Geelong, Denson had 23 points and 10 rebounds in the 72-46 victory, and then backed it up on the Sunday against Ballarat with 26 points and 15 rebounds in Knox's three-point win.
Denson will be aiming for her third consecutive player of the week in the final round of the regular season, but more importantly will be trying to help Knox finish the season with two more victories against Sandringham on Saturday, and against Nunawading on Sunday at the State Basketball Centre.
The Raiders women are yet to lose a game at home in 2012, with a win against the Spectres on Sunday completing the perfect home regular season record, with a home semi-final beckoning against Kilsyth the following week.
Sunday's clash for the Raiders men at the State Basketball Centre with Nunawading is slightly more important, with the two teams fighting for top spot of the South Conference and a home semi-final the following week, with both their records currently 16-10 heading into the final round.
To catch the Knox Under Armour Raiders in action at the State Basketball Centre, get down this Sunday with the women tipping off at midday, and the men at 2pm.
Family passes are $20 (2A and 2C), while adult tickets are $8 and children under 14 are $4.
