Hundreds of junior basketball players and their families will be the first to inaugurate the new magnificent two court basketball facility at Fairhills High School this Saturday with games being officially fixtured at the stadium for the first time.
After many years of planning and preparation, Knox Basketball Inc. and Fairhills High School’s vision of creating a two court stadium has come to fruition. The new facility will be utilised predominantly by the junior domestic competition and will provide a training facility for both domestic and representative teams.
With all new Ringleader backboards and rings, scoreboards, air conditioners, and upstairs and downstairs viewing areas, both players and spectators will be treated to a great playing and spectating facility for many years to come.
Simon Brookhouse, CEO Knox Basketball welcomed the opening of Fairhills this weekend for junior competition.
“It’s been many years of planning between KBI and Fairhills and I’m very pleased to see the opening of the facility this weekend. I’m sure everyone will be very pleased with the quality of the two court venue.
“The opening of Fairhills gives us great opportunity to continue to control our own destiny in way of having control of the courts. It adds another part of the jigsaw and as we look towards the opening of the High Street Road facility in mid-2011, KBI will be in a very fortunate position with three great venues in Fairhills, Knox Converse Stadium (Boronia) and the High Street Road state-of-the-art basketball stadium.
“KBI is also looking forward to forming a strong relationship with Fairhills High School and how we can help them, in particular with their basketball program,” said Brookhouse.
Fairhills High School is located at 330 Scoresby Rd, Knoxfield. Melways reference: 64 D12.
Pictures of the new venue will be uploaded to the Knox Basketball website under ‘Photo Gallery’ by Friday 5th February. Log online to www.knoxbasketball.com.au.
