RAIDERS WIN ON PATH TO FINALS

The Knox Ford Raiders D-League teams were both victorious over the weekend against the Sandringham Sabres, with this weekend’s game against Bendigo the final regular season game.

The Raiders women won 83-66, with Captain Alana Wallis scoring 27 points and Emma Beddome finishing with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

They are locked in second spot regardless of the result, with Sandringham their likely opponent in the first week of finals, which will be played at Knox Converse Stadium.

The Raiders men had a ten-point victory over the Sabres, with a 77-67 win on Saturday night.

Patrick Mockiewicz was the leading scorer with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Justin Aver returned from injury to post 16 points.

The men are locked in third spot, with a home final out of the equation. Their first final will be against the loser of Nunawading and Ballarat, which will be played this weekend.

Both the men and women face the Bendigo Braves at Knox Converse Stadium on Saturday night, with the women at 6pm and the men at 8pm. Both the Bendigo men and women are out of the playoffs race.
