Another piece in the puzzle has come together for the Knox Raiders NBL1 South Women’s line up, with young up and coming point guard Sarah Elsworthy signing on. A current member of the WNBL’s Adelaide Lightning, Elsworthy is a quick guard who can both get her own shot and keep team-mates involved. In 2019 she led the Werribee Devils to a premiership in Big V’s Championship Women division.

Head Coach Kennedy Kereama doesn’t undersell Elsworthy’s importance to the team.

“Sarah’s leadership, poise and ability to facilitate and make plays will be critical to our program this season,” Said Kereama.

“Sarah is a high I.Q point guard that can play at both ends of the floor, she plays at a high tempo in transition, is an excellent on ball defender and is an excellent offensive playmaker.”

If you want to learn more about Sarah, Big V did a player profile on her in 2019.

The NBL1 South season tips off on Saturday the 18th of April.
