Knox Basketball is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Grant Harrison.
After a diligent important external search supported by recruitment firm, SportsPeople, Knox Basketball Incorporated (KBI) is pleased to confirm the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Grant Harrison.
Grant has been performing in an acting CEO capacity since the recent departure of our previous CEO, Stephen Walter. Grant is a former Knox Raider basketball player and he has been actively engaged in the association as a Board member since May 2018.
In addition to his passion for all things basketball, Grant brings a wealth of business experience and entrepreneurship skills to KBI that will support the association as we enter an even greater period of growth. The Labor Government recently committed a sizeable grant to fund the expansion of the State Basketball Centre and Grant’s astute business development and leadership skills will position Knox Basketball to face into the challenges this growth will bring.
Grant is thrilled to have the opportunity to take on this important role with Knox Basketball and he “is looking forward to the exciting opportunities and challenges ahead. It’s a great team at Knox Basketball and our partnerships with our Clubs and other basketball associations are a wonderful foundation to be coming in to lead and expand.”
Knox Basketball acting chairperson, Michelle Murray, who led the Board sub-Committee in the external CEO search, says “Grant’s confirmation is a testament to the talent in the marketplace as KBI had a number of outstanding candidates apply. Australian basketball is lucky to have such depth in the basketball talent pool. We are pleased to fill the position with an outstanding individual who brings blended skills that will help us position for the future. Speaking on behalf of the Board, we welcome the opportunity to continue to work with our Clubs with Grant’s leadership to progress this important period in the development of basketball.”
