State Championship Men

The Knox Raiders Championship Men lost the battle in a close fought out game in the final quarter against Hawthorn Magic with a final score of 73-83. Strong performances from both Chris Kaba (19pts, 12 rebounds and 3 steals) and Durrell Mcdonald (18pts, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) with both players shooting at an impressive 46% from the field. Jack Barry captain of the Hawthorn Magic proved to be unstoppable this week with 21 points shooting at 70% from the field.

This leaves the SCM with a record of 4 wins and 4 losses for the season so far, sitting 6thon the ladder.


State Championship Women

The Knox Raiders State Championship Women had a bye this week and a well-deserved break. Currently sitting on top of the ladder with 7 wins and 1 loss for the season so far.


Victorian Youth Championship Men

The VYCM has a tough loss this week against top of the ladder clash against Hawthorn Magic after finishing the first quarter 8 points down. They didn’t go down without a fight after battling it out to win the 3rdquarter 24-23. However unfortunately going down 103-80 in the end. For the Knox Raiders Corey Fiddes had an outstanding 22pts shooting at 60% from the field backing up his performance with 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Naoum Lazis was leading Hawthorn magic with 23pts, 9 rebounds and 4 steals.

Despite the loss, the Youth men are still sitting on top of the Terril pools ladder with 7 wins and 4 losses so far.


Victorian Youth Championship Women

The Victorian Youth champ women once again came up against the Nunawading spectres after only versing them only a few weeks ago in Round 3 and going down in a nail biting 53-51 game. The Youth Champ Women came out hungry to get a win on the weekend with a strong 24-12 first quarter. However, by half time the Spectres has caught up and the final half was once again a nail biting close game right down to the final buzzer with the Knox raiders losing 76-79. Leah Santomaggio (18pts, 7rbds, 3asts) and Eliana Bravington (25pts, 7rbds) were both standouts for the Knox Raiders. The Nunawading Spectres proved hard to guard with 5 players in double figures for the game. Also, shooting at and impressive 52% from the 3pt line.

The VYCW are now sitting 5thon the Terril pools ladder with an even 5 wins and 5 loses.
