June 9, 2021

Firstly, from everyone at Knox Basketball, we hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe at this time.

In line with the latest announcement from the Victorian State Government, metropolitan indoor community sport is still unable to re-start, as per these updated guidelines.

Whilst this isn’t the news we wanted, we are hopeful we will only be a few weeks away from finishing our Summer Grand Finals and then starting our Winter 2021 Season.

Please find our relevant plans for domestic basketball below. Be aware, these plans are fluid and may change as our situation evolves.

KBI, the State Basketball Centre and Knox Stadium will remain closed until 11.59pm Thursday 17th of June.

All Knox Basketball programs, including Aussie Hoops, Little Dribblers and Morning Sessions, are suspended through this time frame too.

VJBL, NBL1 and Big V are also suspended at this time – please refer to Basketball Victoria’s website for updates on these specifically.

COVID-19 Update: Basketball suspension continued for another week

Following the latest COVID-19 cluster, the Victorian Government has made the decision to extend lockdown by another week, active from 11.59pm Thursday 3 June. Due to this, Knox Basketball has been forced to extend the suspension of Junior Domestic and Senior Domestic games.

We are working our best to ensure that all Grand Finals for both Junior Domestic and Senior Domestic are played prior to the commencement of the Winter 2021 Season. As a result, we have a number of options we are prepared for when we are given the green light to re-commence. Please refer to the below documents.

Senior Domestic Plan

Please note that these plans are fluid and will be changed or updated as needed.

All Knox Basketball programs, including Aussie Hoops, Little Dribblers and Morning Sessions, are suspended through this time frame too.

VJBL, NBL1 and Big V are also suspended at this time – please refer to Basketball Victoria’s website for updates on these specifically.

We will be in contact with all members again next week pending decisions made by the State Government.

Please note, both the State Basketball Centre and Knox Basketball Stadium will be closed until further notice.
