One of the most talented and decorated women’s coaches in Australia will be the Head Coach of the Knox Raiders for the upcoming NBL1 season. Kennedy Kereama brings a wealth of experience to the Raiders line up, having been a head coach at a national level with the New Zealand Tall Ferns, as well as a WNBL head coach in Perth.

Over the past few years, Kennedy led the Sunbury Jets women’s program to an undefeated season in Big V Division 1 Women, before winning back to back premierships in State Championship Women the following two seasons.

Currently an assistant coach with the Deakin Melbourne Boomers WNBL, Kennedy is excited by the opportunity to grow the Raiders program.

“My short term expectations are to work at retaining, identifying and recruiting a competitive NBL1 side in conjunction with the club. Long term I hope to build some meaningful relationships with stakeholders and members, while creating a competitive and successful culture,” said Kereama.

“I see this as a great opportunity to continue to work and build on my coaching craft with great players in the best state league in Australia.”

Knox Basketball Director of Basketball Operations David Ingham believes Kennedy will provide just what Knox Basketball need.

“Kennedy is one of the best coaches in Australian basketball. Not only will he provide us the best chance at competing this season, but he will also develop our younger players within the senior program,” said Ingham.

“We are thrilled by this signing.”

Kennedy will get to work immediately, planning how the Raiders will look for this upcoming season.
