Knox Basketball is currently seeking a new Girls Coordinator for our Knox Junior Raiders program.

Please find below a list of the required duties and responsibilities to be carried out in this role.


  • As a Coaching Coordinator, you would be an extension of the Basketball Development Manager. This means would be expected to assist in the delivery of key messages to our Coaches and Players and provide essential feedback regarding the Knox Basketball Inc. Representative program with the Basketball Development Manager.
  • It is essential that you would be the first point of contact for the KJR Program Coaches and parents. You would be required to to resolve any queries and/or issues first before escalating them to the Basketball Development Manager.


  • Attend a minimum of TWO Friday night games per week and complete the “Coaches Feedback Sheet” for each game.
    • Meet briefly with the coach prior to the game to let them know why you are there;
    • Sit close to the bench so that you can observe time outs and bench talk and body language;
    • Meet briefly with the coach at the end of the game and give some constructive feedback so that they can incorporate that into their Sunday training session that weekend;
    • Make a TRIPLE copy of the Coaches Feedback Sheet – one to be given to the coach at Sunday training; one to be given to the Basketball Development Manager each Monday; one to be kept by the Coaching Coordinator.
    • NOTE – Spreading yourself evenly across the ages and ability levels in the program when attending Friday night games.
  • Email and organise WEEKLY coaches meetings (e.g. Week 1 – U12’s Coaches; Week 2 – U14’s Coaches, etc)
    • Based on your observations at Friday night games and Sunday training sessions, you are to select a theme/topic to discuss with the age group coaches and provide realistic strategies of how to train and develop that skill/s for the age group
  • Oversee the Age Group Head Coaches regarding the Player Skills Evaluation progress and provide useful strategies to achieve these.
  • Provide regular, ongoing communication of issues, concerns, problems and progress to the Basketball Development Manager and the Knox Junior Raiders Chairperson.
  • Attend a monthly meeting with the Basketball Development Manager
    • Provide a monthly report containing the following information to be submitted to the Board:
      • A list of teams you have observed at Friday night games
      • Age groups you have met with and the theme/topic addressed and key strategies implemented
      • Any issues/concerns requiring further action and/or escalation
      • Plans/scheduling for the upcoming month

As the Basketball Coaching Coordinator, you would be assisting to deliver a timely and consistent message to our coaches, parents and players.
