Knox Junior Raiders – 14.1 Girls heading to Nationals

Our Knox Junior Raiders 14.1 Girls had a fantastic season this year, winning the silver medal in their VC Grand Final against the Melbourne Tigers.

Finishing in the top two of their pool in VC, the team qualified for the Classic Tournament making it to the semi final losing a thriller by 2 points and finishing 3rd overall.

The girls worked hard and came together and will now head to Shepparton next week to compete in the most prestigious junior tournament in the country, the Australian Club Championships (Nationals) from October 1st-6th.

Throughout the tournament, the girls will compete against the best U14 teams from across Australia for the title of 2018 National Champions.

Head Coach Rachael Quirk and Assistant Coach Stephanie Philips say they are “super lucky that we have 11 players who all bring something different to the game and the team has a great ability to grind it out when things get tough. This is exactly what we’re going to need if we want to compete well. We hope we can create another positive, unforgettable experience for our girls this year at Nationals”.

On behalf of our Knox Basketball community we want to wish the girls the best of luck next week in Shepparton! Go Raiders!
