Hot off the back of his 2018 NZ NBL Championship win with Southland Sharks, James Hunter joins the Knox Raiders for the 2019 NBL1 season.

Standing at 6’8″ James brings some valuable height to the team. Head Coach Darryl McDonald comments, “James size will be big for us and his ability to step out and shoot, will keep teams honest. He rebounds well, is a rim protector and a very good defender. I am looking forward to seeing him on the court with the rest of the guys”

James’ career has also taken him to a national level, representing NZ in the NZ Tall Blacks in the FIBA Asia Cup in 2017 where they placed forth.

James says “I am really excited about Knox and the rich basketball history and community here. Pumped to be a part of that in chasing a championship in the NBL1. After speaking with Dmac I knew it was a great opportunity and knew I had to get down here. Go Raiders!”

Get down to State Basketball Centre on March 30th to watch James and the team in their first game of the season.
