The Raiders NBL1 roster’s continue to come together, this time adding Ben Ayre at the helm of the men’s team. A part of the NBL1 2019 championship line up for Nunawading, Ayre has spent this NBL season with the Adelaide 36ers, where he’s continued to develop his game.

NBL1 Men’s Head Coach Dom Linossier is “excited” about what Ben can bring to the team.

“He’s a proven point guard at NBL1 level and is an exciting NBL prospect. Ben knows how to run and organise a team, but also can score the ball in multiple ways,” said Dom.

“His pace will really suit our style of play.”

Ayre is excited that Knox has given him the “opportunity to run the team and lead.”

“My aim for this season is to contribute on both ends of the floor, scoring the ball and playing tough defence,” continued Ben. “I’m also focussed on being a vocal leader.”

Not only will Ben be a big addition to the club on the floor, but he will be a huge part of developing the team off the floor too.

“Speaking with Ben, he is really keen to build a strong culture at Knox and looks forward to mentoring our younger guys,” continued Linossier.

Ayre joins Dillon Stith, Malik Meunier and Dylan Hare as the announced players of the Knox Raiders NBL1 team.
