Homegrown superstar Rebecca Ott has committed to the Raiders for another season. Having played her juniors with Knox, Ott has been a star of the senior program for many years, dominating Big V previously and last year in the inaugural NBl1 season.

The athletic wing has played at the highest level, representing the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL. This experience has made her a true leader around the club.

Known for attacking the rim and getting out in transition, Ott also shot the lights out from deep last season. In 28 minutes per game she averaged 15.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 50% from the field and 46% from three.

“I’m really excited to be back for 2020. It was good to get a taste of NBL1 last year, and hopefully I can continue to improve and get better,” said Ott. “It’s great to have coach Kennedy on board with the club, and I can’t wait to get to work with the team.”

In 2020 Bec is expected to once again play a large part within the team on both ends of the floor.

“Having worked with Bec in the Tall Ferns program before she always had a tireless work ethic that raised the competitive drive of her team-mates,’ said Head Coach Kennedy Kereama. “She is extremely coachable and always puts the team first.”

“When coaching against her she always presented us with a number of challenges and often required our best defender – we had to be locked into our defensive schemes.”

Watch out for Bec to take another step forward with the Raiders in 2020.
