Knox Basketball is sad to announce the unfortunate resignation of our Basketball Development Manager Gerard Leonard. In a short space of time Gerard has managed to do a magnificent job at Knox, bringing many positive changes and shaping our Junior Representative program for success in 2019.
“I have absolutely enjoyed my time working full time as Basketball Development Manager” Gerard says. “As many of you know, my background is teaching and it has been a big part of my life for a long period of time. After taking leave from my position as a teacher I have discovered that this is where my passion lies.
I have since been offered a new role in the teaching sector, which I felt was too good to pass up and was an opportunity that I felt to get back into teaching back on the path I want to take as a career.”
“The people who I have worked with at Knox in the office and in my role with Raiders have been nothing short of amazing. They have been very welcoming and have helped me all through the processes of getting settled here.”
“I will still be heavily involved in the Junior Raiders program and looking help in a player development role in the program, whilst still being able to fulfil my teaching career.”
“I would like to thank Grant Harrison who gave me the opportunity to take up the role as BDM and all the KBI staff who welcomed me with open arms. I will still be a part of the KBI community and look to help as many players and coaches as I can in 2019 and beyond.”
We cannot thank Gerard enough for the hard work and dedication he has put into this club, and wish him all the best in his return to teaching.
We will be advertising for a new Basketball Development Manager in the coming days.
