The Raiders NBL1 South Women continue to bolster an already strong roster, with WNBL player Stella Beck joining the group. A versatile athlete, Beck will fill a number of needs for the Raiders. Stella grew in importance for the Boomers, playing close to 30 minutes per game in the last month of the regular season.
Coach Kennedy Kereama doesn’t downplay Stella’s importance.
“The signing of Stella is a huge get for our program,” said Kennedy. “Stella one of the most versatile basketball players I have coached. She has great work ethic, has proven leadership skills and has great basketball I.Q.
“Her ability to play and defend almost any position on the court makes her a tough match up and she has great perimeter and post skill. We are looking forward to getting Stella on board once her WNBL post season concludes.”
At just 24 years old, Beck is still getting better, and Kennedy knows this as well as anyone.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to spend time with Stella in the Tall Ferns program and it’s been a privilege to watch her develop and grow throughout her college career and the WNBL this season.”
