It is with great regret that Knox Basketball wish to advise the passing of VBRA Knox Referee Adviser and Life Member Anthony Aulsebrook.

Anthony commenced his refereeing career in 1968 at Albert Park and made his way to Knox as Referee Adviser in 2003.  Since that time, Anthony has been responsible for the education and development of thousands of domestic referees, many who have gone on to achieve great heights both on and off the floor. In 2018 Anthony’s longevity in the sport was highlighted by Basketball Victoria, receiving a Diamond Service Award for 50 years of outstanding service to basketball in Victoria.

There is no doubt that Anthony was instrumental in the rise of our Referee Program over his seventeen years as Adviser.

Anthony leaves a lasting legacy, whereby he will be remembered for his dedication, commitment and passion towards basketball and the development of Knox officials.

As a mark of respect, all VBRA Knox Branch members will wear a black arm band for all games officiated for the next week. In addition to this, all Junior Domestic games will have a minute of silence to start the game.

Further details relating to funeral arrangements for Anthony will be distributed in due course.

Vale Anthony.
