Knox Basketball is deeply saddened to hear about the recent passing of Graham Longstaff, who was not only a long time Knox family member, but also a long serving SEABL Men’s Head Coach.

Graham is one of the most decorated and talented coaches Knox has ever seen, beginning his career as our SEABL Head Coach in 1996 and immediately proving his talent, passion and love for Knox Basketball by leading the men’s SEABL team to an Eastern Conference Championship.

Graham was Head Coach in 1996 and 1997, and then again from 2008 – 2012. His accomplishments were amazing, leading us to every conference final between 2008-2012, taking out the conference championship on three occasions. Graham took the group one step further in 2009, not only winning the Eastern Conference but defeating Frankston to take home the SEABL League Championship.

Graham was also the Director of Coaching from 1993 through to 1996 and the Director of Coaching (Boys) from 2001 through to 2008. Graham had a huge impact on many of our juniors during his time, developing all our kids through the program with dedication, energy and passion, leaving a legacy that will not be forgotten. He played an instrumental role as coaching mentor for the successful 2007 and 2009 Under 14 Boys’ team who won the Australian National Junior Championships.
