Knox Basketball Performance – Launching Soon

13, October 2021

Knox Basketball is excited to announce that they have formed a partnership with Prime Athletes, creating Knox Basketball Performance.

Prime Athletes provide training for individual athletes and educational workshops for teams. Former Raiders SEABL player and NBL star Cam Rigby is the Head Coach & Director.

Over the last five months when restrictions permitted, Knox Basketball and Prime Athletes have been busy transforming the back room at Boronia into a performance gym.

Knox Basketball CEO Grant Harrison is looking forward to our players being able to use these facilities.

“After a disruptive few years in Covid lockdowns we wanted to do something to help our players build & maintain their fitness levels once we were able to re-open,” said Harrison.

“This will enable all our players from junior domestic, senior domestic, junior Raiders & senior Raiders to access a dedicated basketball strength & conditioning gym with fully qualified instructors, and at very low cost”.

Prime Athletes Head Coach and Director Cam Rigby believes there are a number of benefits Knox Basketball Performance can provide to our players.

“We’re very excited to be part of providing the whole Knox Basketball community with a facility and program like this,” explained Rigby.

“Our Knox Basketball Performance program will provide a range of benefits to all areas of the association. From junior athletes learning the basics and getting stronger, to some coach education, to adding physical development to our aspiring elite athlete and senior programs. It can now ALL be done in our very own facility.”

“This couldn’t happen at a more important time, with all of our athletes having missed months of on-court training and games. We have the chance to help ALL of our athletes come back a little stronger, faster, and better prepared for next season and far beyond.”

With the gym opening once the stadium restrictions are decreased, Knox Basketball Performance will host information and introduction nights, to explain and highlight the benefits and outcomes from joining the program.

Job Opportunity – Lead Coach at Knox Basketball Performance

Our LEAD COACH will run small group training sessions (approx. 11 per week initially), handle individual programming, athlete inductions and help host workshops.

Hours will likely be WEEKDAY afternoon/evenings, and SATURDAY mornings.

Ideally, the candidate will be ASCA certified and experience coaching novice and performance athletes. A WWC card is required.

This is a paid role.

Ongoing hourly rate PLUS potential commission to be negotiated with the candidate, starting at $35/hour.

COVID restrictions will dictate exact start date, but we are very keen to hit the ground running ASAP. We have great enthusiasm from the Knox Basketball community, this will drive the growth of the program quickly!

We will be continuing online sessions over the next few weeks in the lead up to opening face to face.

If you’re interested, email Cam Rigby (cam@primeathletes.com.au) to apply, with a copy of your CV.
